Due to the unrestricted use of internet in the country, the need to protect rights in cyberspace is increasing. Among the various forms of online violence, cases involving women and children are sensitive and many victims are unable to take steps to prevent or remedy them. In this situation, a joint platform of 13 organizations has recently been formed under the initiative of Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST). This platform called 'Cyber Support for Women and Children' will work together to protect women and children.

The convenor of the platform is Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST), the joint convenor is Cybercrime Awareness Foundation (CCAF) and the member secretary is Naripakkho. Besides, 10 other member organizations include- Arodhya Foundation, Article Nineteen, Institute of Informatics and Development (IID), The Tech Academy, BRAC, Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF), Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Cyber Teens, Digitally Right Ltd. and Human Rights Support Society (HRSS).

This platform has undertaken an awareness program on safe internet throughout the month of Cyber Security Awareness Month. This year's theme of this program, which has been running worldwide since 2004, is: "Secure Our World". The campaign highlights four themes for a safer internet. These are: enabling multi-factorial authentication, using strong passwords on IDs, regularly updating software and identifying phishing and reporting it immediately.

Member organizations of the platform will work together to raise awareness against online violence against women and children and ensure justice for victims through referral systems, proper implementation of laws and advocacy.

Recently, the officials of the member organizations met with various government and private institutions and eminent persons to inform about the activities of the platform.
